Walking in Her Faith

Walking in Her Faith is a heartfelt podcast about navigating marriage, motherhood, and faith in a home where spiritual beliefs don’t always align. I share the real moments of raising a child with Christian values while choosing love, grace, and faith in everyday life. If you’ve ever felt alone balancing faith and family, this space offers honest conversations, encouragement, and reminders to keep God at the center.

Grace for the Journey Ahead

Walking in Her Faith is an honest exploration of the beautiful, often complex intersection of marriage, motherhood, and a life led by Christ. We provide a space for tranquil reflection and practical, faith-based ideas for women seeking to lead their families with sincerity and strength.

About Me

My name is Shakira—and my story is one of healing, growth, and learning how to trust God again.

I’m originally from Detroit, Michigan, where I was raised with strength, resilience, and a deep sense of perseverance. Today, I work in the medical field, caring for others and showing up in spaces where compassion matters most. But my journey hasn’t just been about what I do—it’s been about who I’ve become.

After moving to Florida, my life began to shift in ways I never expected. I got married and stepped into a new chapter, one that brought both joy and challenges. Along the way, I experienced church hurt—something that left deep wounds in my heart. It made me pull away completely. I didn’t want anything to do with church, and honestly, I didn’t even want to be around God’s people. I closed that part of my life off, trying to protect myself from being hurt again.

But God wasn’t finished with me. Slowly, and in the most gentle ways, He began to soften my heart. It didn’t happen overnight. It was a process—one of healing, unlearning, and rediscovering what faith truly means beyond people and their imperfections. I began to open my heart again, little by little.

Then I became a mother. That moment changed everything. It deepened my desire to grow, to heal, and to build a foundation rooted in love, faith, and purpose—not just for me, but for my child. It was through motherhood that my relationship with God became more real, more intentional, and more personal.

Not long after, I stepped into ministry alongside my best friend. What started as a simple act of obedience turned into something beautiful. Together, we’ve been growing, learning, and thriving in ministry—encouraging others, sharing truth, and creating space for real, honest faith.

But my journey isn’t perfect. One of the hardest parts has been navigating my marriage while growing in my faith. My husband is not saved, and he doesn’t share the same belief in God or desire for God. It’s a challenge that requires patience, grace, and constant prayer. I’ve had to learn what it truly means to walk in love, to lead by example, and to trust God with what I cannot change.

Through it all, I’m still standing. Still growing. Still becoming. My story is for the woman who has been hurt by the church but still feels God calling her back. For the wife who is walking in faith alone in her marriage. For the mother who wants to raise her child with purpose and truth. And for anyone learning that healing and faith can exist in the same space. This is me—   "Walking In Her Faith", even when it’s hard.
